Connecting the Global South to the Global North

Concept Note:

Global businesses today are interconnected and need to benefit from the developments in science, technology and innovation in order to be sustainable and profitable.  The just and equitable management of global resources from the Global South to the Global North, in the wake of changes due to climate change and evolving legal regulations in different jurisdictions, is subject to the understanding of key concepts and frameworks by all the relevant stakeholders.

Agenda: 

Seplaa has been active in the global development arena through projects, trainings, partnerships and network building since 2009. Building on Seplaa’s Global Impact, the Seplaa Group launched the Seplaa Global Impact Network (SGIN) in 2023 laying the foundation of the global impact that the Seplaa Group wants to create globally.

The SGIN is now bringing global experts together from North America, Asia Pacific, UK, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa as our Regional Council Members who will be contributing their skills and expertise to launch a series of dialogues and consultation sessions with business leaders, regulators, judiciary and young leaders under the first global impact project of the SGIN in 2024: ‘Sustainability in Action through the intersection of Global Business, Impact Law & ESG: Connecting the Global South to the Global North’. 

The SGIN is based on the foundation of Seplaapreneurship-5 Cog Wheels of Sustainable Business Strategy and Tool which applies the lens of the 5 Ps (People. Planet, Profit, Policy & Purpose) to all the dialogues conducted under this project. 

Proposed Events in the Global South:

  • Asia Pacific: Organize two lectures / seminars with higher judiciary and/ or with an institute of higher education in Pakistan. 
  • Latin America: Organize one lecture/seminar at an institute/ University of higher education in Costa Rica/ Chile and/or Argentina. 
  • Africa: Organize one lecture/ seminars with higher education and/or judiciary in Ghana.
 

Proposed Events in the Global North:

  • UK & Europe: Organize one lecture / seminar with higher judiciary and/ or with an institute of higher education in the UK, Netherlands and/or Belgium.
  • North America:  Organize one lecture / seminar with higher judiciary and/ or with an institute of higher education in Canada and/or USA.

Final Output:

The Regional Dialogue reports will be collected to create the final Project Report highlighting cross regional collaborations and partnerships, future  interventions under SGIN and will be disseminated with global thought leaders and policy makers to contribute towards the creation of a just and equitable world.
